Resources

Circular Crafts Canvas is based on the principles of the circular economy and focuses on sustainability, waste reduction, and resource regeneration throughout the product’s lifecycle.
Circular Crafts Canvas is a tool for artisans, designers and craft practitioners interested in integrating circularity aspects in their craft production. In our research, we have analysed the slow/narrow/close approach and linked it to time/location/value. While it can be used for mapping reasons, this interactive format requires reflection and involvement in creating a comprehensive approach to implementing aspects of circularity.
The slow/narrow/close approach is a strategy for sustainable resource management. It focuses on three key actions:
- Slowing extends product lifespan by promoting durability, repair, and reuse.
- Narrowing improves efficiency to reduce resource consumption.
- Closing ensures continuous recycling to minimize waste.
Together, these strategies help sustain resources, reduce extraction, and cut down on waste, creating a more circular and sustainable system.
Map the circularity of your product’s lifecycle by exploring the tool in English and German.
